This absinthe Spoon is a faithful iteration of a traditional absinthe spoon design. It gets it's name from the holes punched in the spoon, "flèche" meaning "arrow" in French. You can count 16 arrow shaped holes, two clover leaves at the top and a round hole at the bottom.

The spoon has the typical bump on its handle to fit securely on an absinthe glass.

Since real absinthe has no additional sugar in it, spoons are used to hold a sugar cube above the glass while a fountain drips water on it in order to sweeten and dilute the drink. Once sweetened and mixed to your taste, use the spoon to stir the "purée" (old french slang for an absinthe diluted with cold water.)
